Flick
Richard Lamonte Williams was born and raised in Buffalo, New York at a time when the music scene was vibrant. He was destined to be a part of it. In grade school he took violin and clarinet lessons. In Junior High he moved on to the saxophone, flute, and was a member of the choir. Flick then went on to Buffalo’s East High School where many of the hottest local musicians passed through (Rick James, Kenny Hawkins, etc.) After playing at local clubs, he then went on Hampton University where he was the President of his freshman class and participated in many other activities. During college, he performed with many great artists such as Rick James, Olivia Newton John, and Stevie Wonder. The one thing that remains constant in his musical journey is writing, exploring, and painting musical pictures in various styles. From Jazz to Classical, R&B to Reggae, the music is what’s important, not the label.
